Thank you, Mark, and it sounds like you are offering a great service. Many Veterans have done "Project Management" in their normal course of duties, but aren't aware that the PMP credentials are required for many positions. Appreciate your input, and besides this information being available here, we'll get this back out to the audience.

Hi, my name is Jeff Siegel, and I’m the Dir of Sales for MGM Computer Systems, Inc.

Our president, Mike Maurer, is a US Navy Veteran, who served for 6 years.

MGM provides wireless tracking systems, to track people and high value assets, to public and private organizations to keep at-risk patients and staff safe and to prevent loss or theft of assets. Our customizable Real Time Locating Systems (RTLS) saves money compared to assigning personnel to watch at-risk patients and may cost much less than the value of lost or stolen items such as medical equipment. Our same tracking system infrastructure can be used for a Panic Alert system for personnel, such as nurses and college students.

I’m looking for opportunities to partner with other companies who have complimentary competencies, such as construction, facilities management, security, etc.

The biggest lesson learned I’d like to share with other Veteran business owners is "two heads are better than one". Partnering on proposals and implementation will be faster, easier, and bring better quality to our customers if we bring our expertise and energy together.

For me, as a person who helps companies write contract bids, I think offering your services to help entities save money would be part of excellent solutions to differentiate one bidding company from another.

Hi, I'm Rich Axtell, and I'm the CEO and President of APEMS Solutions LLC.

I'm a former Marine (Semper Fi) and Army Infantry, who served for 11 years. I also served in law enforcement for almost 6 years.

APEMS Solutions LLC provides consulting, assessing, and planning services in Emergency Management, Security, and Resiliency. We also travel across the country and conduct a premier 4-hour workshop on Critical Incident Management - Active Shooter. The reason why I say premier is that to date, it is now widely being requested and when experienced, it changes the entire context of the discussion. Some of the projects we have conducted includes vulnerability assessments with water and wastewater systems, organizational assessments, and security management plans. Additionally, we have set up FERC Rev. 3 Security Management Plans, and one of our team members is an expert in MS4 and Stormwater Management.

APEMS Solutions LLC also sells disposable gloves (industrial, medical, and food grade). Very important when it relates to safety. We are a small business in both services and supplies.

I'm looking for opportunities to grow my business across state lines, and especially conduct my workshops. In fact, I just provided one with the City of Richmond, VA, Public Works Division.

The biggest lesson learned I'd like to share is, never give up. Many civilian agencies don't understand us, especially when we are under pressure.

      Hi Rich,
Semper Fi and hooah (says the Navy Vet :). Your 4-hour workshop on Critical Incident Management - Active Shooter seems like something every college campus should be buying based on recent incident.
As a CVE, you may want to consider contacting the VA's VetSuccess program that has connections with 80+ college campuses to see how you might offer your services there. Just a thought. Thank you for your service and what you do.

    Hello everyone!

My name is Bo Carrington and I am the President of BCA Executive Consultants.

I am a USAF Veteran, who served for 10 years.

BCA Executive Consultants provides leadership development services and consulting to government and commercial organizations. Our goal is to help organizations succeed by helping their leaders access all of the potential within their human assets!

I’m looking for opportunities to help with determining needs and developing solutions through our consulting services, and providing solutions through our training and coaching services.

The biggest lesson learned I’d like to share with other Veteran business owners is as veterans we've all likely experienced both good and bad leaders and well functioning and poorly functioning leadership systems. We better than most know the price that can be cost as the result of bad leadership, so let's make sure we remember best the right kind of example to follow and be the change!

Hi all, I am Michael Mizell, and I am owner (100%) of Millennium Security Services for almost 19 yrs now.  I am a Service Connected, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (CVE Certified), and an Army Veteran served 21 yrs and a couple of months, starting as PVT (1973), OCS and  retiring as a LTC Military Police officer in 1994.  Millennium Security provides unarmed and armed security guards( Federal contracts only), and access control staffing, front desk opns, and security consulting.    I am looking for opportunities in the metro Atlanta Market, as well as state wide ( I have an office in the Brunswick/St Simons Island area that services SE Georgia up through Savannah).  WE have done movie security for Fox Studios and Paramount and hope to do more with Fox  in the near future.  I am looking for unarmed security opportunities and access control positions.  We would also look to team up or be a subcontractor on federal opportunities as well as service your clients in the state of
Georgia.  We offer a 10% profit sharing incentive for any leads you can provide that we can turn in to permanent contracts for as long as we keep the contract!   The biggest lesson learned in two fold, starting out, I would have been more aggressive in trying to find sub-contracting opportunities in federal market to grow my past performance, and secondly, I got screwed so badly in the Federal Mentor Protégé program (which caused financial stress we are still dealing with) by two large companies, both of whom got off scot free because the people responsible for the Program administration did nothing to hold them accountable.  So if you get into a MP program make damned sure that whatever the big company promised you, make them do it in first 60-90 days or they will take advantage of you and leave you holding the bag—or worse, they prepare you for a set aside federal opportunity and at the last minute, pull support for you and bid against you, winning the contract because they helped you prepare your bid and know you numbers, then just underbid you with the other remaining valid bidder.  You can find out more about my company at www.securitymss.com. ; You can reach me directly at my cell, 678-618-5260 or email me at michael.mizell@securitymss.com   Best thing we can do as vets is work together in the business community and share our mistakes and misfortune to help others not run into them.

    Hi Fellow Vets,

I'm Kathleen and I am the founder and owner of WoVo Identity Solutions. www.wovois.com. In case you are wondering, WoVo stands for Woman-Owned Veteran-Owned.

I served as an Electronics Technician in the Air Force and Air Force Reserve for 5 years.

I'm innovating in the mobile apps space by developing mobile apps that run on smartphones and tablets and work with FBI certified fingerprint scanners. I also sell traditional (PC-based) livescan fingerprinting systems and provide fingerprinting services in my local community.

I'm looking for opportunities to grow my fingerprinting business and have an aggressive plan to develop 12+ mobile apps. I already have two in the marketplace that are already selling. I am also looking for Angel Investors to help fund my mobile app development projects. I have lots of demand, so this is an exciting time.

My fingerprinting solutions are used to perform criminal history record checks, identify unknown individuals (living or deceased), provide classroom training to students, provide an archived fingerprint record on a fingerprint card, provide confirmation of identity, provide access control and to support "extreme vetting" initiatives. There are many more use cases that fingerprinting technology is used for so this is a growth field.

It really pays to get CVE certified. I've had customers to check that veteran box when making a purchase from me even if that means buying from me over buying from the direct manufacturer of a product.
